6 Ways to Relax At Home

Sometimes you need to just chill and recharge. I am a firm believer of the saying “you can’t pour from an empty cup” — and the best way to fill that cup, is to simply RELAX.

Of course hitting the spa right now may not be the best idea (even though it sounds soooo good, and of course relaxing). Thankfully you can put yourself at ease right in the comfort of your own home.

Here are 6 of my favorite ways to relax at the crib:

1. Get into something comfortable

Comfort is key, so throw on your favorite loungewear. For me, it’s definitely this set from the Offline x Aerie collection. If heaven were clothes… these would be it (or pretty much anything from this line).

2. Light some candles

This is a no-brainer right here. I just love the ambiance and sense of calmness that candles bring. I especially love the Oceanside Green candle from Bath & Body Works. But recently I tried this Sinnlig candle from Ikea. It was only $2.99 and burns a bit longer than the Bath and Body Works candle (smells amazing too)!

3. Read a book

As you can see, our forever first lady’s inspiring book Becoming is sitting next to me on the couch. I love turning to inspirational books like this or any fiction novels to wind down.

4. Take a bath

A hot bath with a bath bomb is putting me at ease just writing about it. Hot baths can elevate your mood, relieve tension in your muscles, lower your blood pressure and help you sleep better.

5. Turn on something soothing

For me, this is easily an R&B playlist…preferably from the 90s. But there are also soothing playlists that you can choose from that have calming sounds of nature and more.

6. Try a face mask

This is a spa-like activity that you can do right at home. There are so many masks out there, but my favorites are the Glam Glow Supermud Mask and the Freeman’s Apple Cider Vinegar mask.

The beautiful thing is you can do any of these things individually or combine them for the ultimate relaxation at home. Don’t forget to take some time to yourself and just RELAX.

XO,

Jamie
